Blue Devils blow out Tigers to clinch N10

CAREY — Carey avenged a loss to Seneca East in big fashion Monday, run-ruling the Tigers, 17-0, to clinch at least a share of the Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball championship. The Blue Devils’ title had to wait over the weekend following a 3-1 loss to the Tigers on Friday, but they wrapped it up Monday with five runs in the second inning and then an 11-run outburst in the third inning.

Ada sweeps singles in 3-2 victory

Ada swept singles action without losing a game and took a 4-1 victory against Upper Sandusky in a boys tennis match Monday. Zach Beaschler at No. 1 singles, Cade Mullins at No. 2 singles, and Isaac Spar at No. 3 singles all won 6-0, 6-0, beating Clay Burger, Landon Ramos and Justin Blackburn, respectively.

Buckeye Central shuts down Wynford

BUCYRUS — Josh Dentinger and Brady Kerschner combined on a one-hitter as Buckeye Central blanked Wynford, 5-0, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Monday. Dentinger started and struck out seven of eight batters he faced while the Bucks (9-15, 6-10 N10) built a 5-0 lead.

Rams knock off Eagles, 9-6, for 7th straight victory

NORTH ROBINSON — Upper Sandusky extended its winning streak to seven games with a 9-6 victory against Colonel Crawford on Monday in Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball play. The Rams (14-7, 11-4 N10) scored twice each in the first two innings, three times in the fifth inning and two more times in the sixth inning.

NORTH ROBINSON — Upper Sandusky’s seventh-inning rally came up just short in a 6-5 loss to Colonel Crawford on Monday in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game. The Rams (9-10, 7-7 N10) scored three times in the seventh inning to get within one but left the tying run stranded at third.

Weinandy hits 7th home run in Mohawk’s 7th straight win

ADA — Tess Weinandy blasted her seventh home run of the season as Mohawk overcame a slow start and ran away with a 12-3 victory against Ada in a nonconference softball game Monday. Mohawk (12-5) did not score in the first two innings, scored once each in the third and fourth innings, scored twice in the fifth inning, three times in the sixth inning and five times in the seventh inning.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk and Wynford played a combined 23 innings with 54 hits, 40 walks, 13 hit batters, 16 errors and about seven and a half hours over two days. The end result was a split, with the Warriors taking a 12-10 victory in 13 innings in the completion of a suspended game and the Royals winning 12-11 in 10 innings in the second game Saturday at Mohawk.
