Rams edge Tornadoes for 3rd win

Upper Sandusky picked up its third win of the season with a 3-2 victory against Tiffin Columbian in girls tennis action Wednesday. Jodi Smalley evened her No. 1 singles record at 5-5 with a 6-3, 6-2 victory, while Emma Schoenberger won for the fourth time at No. 2 singles by downing Casey Knutson, 6-0, 6-1.

Arlington takes sweep of Riverdale

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Arlington extended Riverdale’s losing streak to six with a 25-11, 25-13, 25-16 victory Wednesday night in a Blanchard Valley Conference match at Riverdale. The Falcons (3-7, 1-5 BVC) were led on the attack by Tayler Ashburn with five kills and Bry Vanden Bosch with four. Ashburn added two blocks.

GALION — From top to bottom, Upper Sandusky has proven itself as the best boys golf team in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference. Led by three-time N10 player of the year Brett Montgomery, the Rams won the league tournament Tuesday at Valley View Golf Course to clinch the overall team championship.

Chester’s 22 kills lead Mohawk

MORRAL — Madi Chester pounded 22 kills in just three sets as Mohawk swept Ridgedale, 25-16, 25-13, 25-12, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Tuesday night. Chester added 10 digs for the Warriors (11-1, 7-1 N10).

Carey sweeps to even N10 mark

CAREY — Carey rolled in the first set and then won closer sets after that to sweep Bucyrus, 25-6, 25-19, 25-22, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Tuesday night. McKenzie Row pounded 12 kills and added five aces.

USV tops Riverdale

ARLINGTON — Upper Scioto Valley got a 38 from Brady Hipsher and topped Riverdale, 174-212, in a nonleague boys golf match Tuesday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. Jacob Tackett led the Falcons (6-13) with a 50. Rease Haley (53), Curtis Tracy (54) and Justin Hartman (55) were close behind.
