Upper tops Shelby for first win

The Upper Sandusky volleyball team picked up its first win of the season by beating Shelby 25-23, 14-25, 25-23, 25-20 on Monday night at Upper Sandusky. The Rams (1-1) took an early lead in the first set before Shelby (0-2) rallied ahead. Upper Sandusky then made a run for a 23-19 lead. The Whippets tied it before the Rams scored the final two points to take a 1-0 lead.

Rams win 4-1 over Streaks

FREMONT — Upper Sandusky evened its record at 2-2 with a 4-1 girls tennis victory against Fremont St. Joseph Monday at Rodger Young Park. Three of the Rams’ four victories came easily, including a pair of singles sweeps.

Bluffton sweeps Riverdale

BLUFFTON — Bluffton swept Riverdale 25-20, 25-20, 25-17 in a volleyball match Monday night. Grace Wetherill led the Falcons (0-2) with seven kills, three aces and two blocks. Tayler Ashburn contributed five kills, eight digs and a block, while Tayler Yoder had 14 assists, an ace and a kill.

Upper junior high teams win

NORTH ROBINSON — The Upper Sandusky junior high volleyball teams both picked up victories on the road at Colonel Crawford. The seventh grade team won its season opener 25-20, 20-25, 25-11.

Royals sweep

CRESTLINE — Lainey Holman powered 10 kills to lead the Wynford volleyball team to a 25-14, 25-13, 25-18 victory against Crestline on Monday night at Crestline. Holman added seven digs. Averi McMillan, Mia Leuthold and Lyndie Williams had six kills apiece in a balanced attack for the Royals (1-1).

Arlington defeats Wynford 3-1

BUCYRUS — Wynford lost a pair of two-point sets and dropped a 25-15, 24-26, 25-23, 26-24 decision to Arlington to open its volleyball season Saturday. After evening the match at one set each, the Royals (0-1) fell just shy of winning the next two against the Red Devils (0-1).
