Division IV No. 4 McComb sweeps Carey

McCOMB — Ranked No. 4 in Division IV in today’s state volleyball poll, McComb powered past Carey, 25-15, 25-16, 25-14, on Saturday. Sydney Kin was 26-of-30 hitting with 11 kills, went 9-of-10 serving with an ace, and added 10 digs and two blocks for the Blue Devils (6-4).

Colonel Crawford, Treisch hand Mohawk 24-8 defeat

SYCAMORE — Blake Treisch did not beat Mohawk by himself; he just put the numbers on the scoreboard. The senior running back scored all of Colonel Crawford’s points in a 24-8 victory, with 156 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries, two 2-point conversions and a late safety.

Warriors 2nd in tourney

MARION — Mohawk finished six strokes out of first place, taking second place Friday in the Marion Harding Invitational at Marion Country Club. Upper, Van Buren play to 1-1 draw

Sierra Carey scored with 26:09 remaining, and Upper Sandusky earned a 1-1 draw against Van Buren in a girls North Central Ohio Soccer Association match Thursday. Megan Hensel assisted by playing the ball to the top left of the penalty area, where Carey took a one-touch shot that beat Marly McCartney near post on the ground.
