Buckeye Central tries to finally knock off Upper

A lot of talent graduated from Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball teams, especially from two-time undefeated champion Upper Sandusky. Buckeye Central returns all but one player, and Carey, though it graduated two outstanding ones, has the talent this year that finally could result in the Rams’ first conference defeat.

Royals earn sweep

BUCYRUS — Freshman Lainey Holman led a balanced attack with nine kills as Wynford beat Bucyrus, 25-19, 25-10, 25-16, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Tuesday evening.

Rams improve to 5-0

ADA — Four of five matches went three sets, but Upper Sandusky remained undefeated on the season with a 4-1 victory against Ada in girls tennis Tuesday at War Memorial Park.

Karl leads BC past Mohawk

NEW WASHINGTON — Jenna Karl had 20 kills and 13 digs to lead Buckeye Central to a 25-19, 25-21, 25-14 victory against Mohawk in both teams’ season opener Tuesday evening.

NEW WASHINGTON — Buckeye Central topped Mohawk, 227-259, in a girls golf match that also included a pair of Upper Sandusky golfers on Monday at Cranberry Hills Golf Course.
