Swavel’s sixth-inning blast lifts Rams over Tornadoes

Sydney Swavel’s eyes lit up in the bottom of the sixth inning when she saw “a meatball, straight down the middle.” The junior drove the fat pitch over the left field fence for her fifth home run of the season, giving the Upper Sandusky softball team a 5-4 lead over Tiffin Columbian in a non-league game Friday.

Bianchi leads JV Rams over Mohawk

Upper Sandusky junior varsity baseball downed Mohawk, 13-2, in five innings Friday. The Rams allowed a run in the top of the first inning before tying the game in the bottom half and fell behind 2-1 in the second inning.

Warriors pound 20 hits in win

NEW WASHINGTON — Mohawk softball pounded out 20 hits and won its sixth straight game, 10-0, at Buckeye Central on Thursday. The Warriors (13-7, 8-6 Northern 10 Athletic Conference) held just a 1-0 lead when they broke open the game with a five-run fourth inning.

Upper boys take 2nd in junior high track quad

ATTICA — Nate McMillan set a school record in winning the 200 hurdles for Upper Sandusky’s junior high boys track and field team Monday in a quad at Seneca East. McMillan posted a time of 27.8, and the Rams finished second to the host Tigers, 102-74.
