FOREST — The 2016 Tree Town Festival to be held July 8-10 at Gormley Park in Forest will hold various athletic events for festival goers to participate in again this year. Tournament format tweaked

COLUMBUS — The Ohio High School Athletic Association on Friday made changes to its cross country tournament structure at the regional level and increased the number of team state qualifiers. Teams from each district will compete in their own regional, whereas in the past some teams were forced to compete in other regionals to even out the number of competing teams at each location.

Upper’s Knapp 3rd in Marysville

MARYSVILLE — Upper Sandusky’s Owen Knapp was third in his division in Wednesday’s Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association tournament at Marysville Golf Club. Knapp shot a 47 with two pars in his nine holes in the 12-and-younger division, finishing five strokes behind winner Minoy Shah, of Pleasant, who had four pars and a birdie in his round of 42.

Athletes ready for Special Olympics

Seven new athletes are among the 34 Angeline is taking to the Special Olympics Ohio State Summer Games this weekend in Columbus. The new athletes helped increase the number of Wyandot County competitors by four or five from last year, Angeline coach Therese “Bucko” Barron said, and most of them cannot wait.
