McGUFFEY — Riverdale cruised through the final two sets of a 25-20, 23-25, 25-9, 25-9 victory at Upper Scioto Valley on Tuesday. Carrol Pauley had 16 kills and Jessica Johnston had 12 kills.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale and Fort Jennings combined for only four shots on goal, but the Musketeers needed only one to take a 1-0 victory in a boys soccer match Tuesday. Derek Luersman scored unassisted at the 11:08 mark in the first half, and it stood as the only goal of the match — and only shot on goal for his team.

TIFFIN — Upper Sandusky beat the darkness and beat Tiffin Calvert, 4-1, in girls tennis action Tuesday. With the match not starting until 5:15 p.m. at Heidelberg University, and with one match going three sets, the Rams (13-2) finished up shortly before sunset.

OLD FORT — Cameron Brady scored four goals and Seth Lortz had a goal and assisted on three as the Upper Sandusky boys soccer team took a 7-4 victory against Old Fort on Tuesday in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match.

CAREY — When Upper Sandusky pushed, Carey pushed back; and the Blue Devils pushed quite a bit harder. Carey ran away with the first two sets of a 25-19, 25-16, 25-23 victory against the Rams to improve to 8-0 at home.

Upper Sandusky defeated River Valley, 4-1, for the second time this season on Monday in girls tennis action. The Rams (12-2) beat the Vikings by the same score with wins in the same spots Aug. 15.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Carrol Pauley had seven kills on 23-of-27 hitting in Riverdale’s 25-20, 25-11, 25-19 loss to Arlington on Monday night. Jessica Johnston finished with five kills, and Cara Pauley had four for the Falcons (5-7, 3-4 Blanchard Valley Conference).

NORTH ROBINSON — Mohawk was impressive in a 25-16, 25-21, 25-23 road sweep of Colonel Crawford on Monday night. The Eagles (9-6, 6-4 N10) entered on a four-match winning streak, including a sweep of Carey on Thursday, but the Warriors (12-3, 8-2 N10) won for the 10th time in their last 11 matches.

FINDLAY — For the second time in three days, Carey’s Trevor Cook and Tyler Leist took first and second to lead Carey to a championship, this time the Van Buren Invitational at Owens Community College.

Trudy Daughenbaugh tied a school record with four assists, and Sierra Carey scored twice as the Upper Sandusky girls soccer team took a 6-0 victory against Mansfield Senior on Saturday.
