There never before has been a team inducted into the Upper Sandusky Athletic Hall of Fame, but then again, there never before had been a team like the 2004-05 basketball team.

NORTH BALTIMORE — Riverdale completed a marathon run of matches with nothing other than a marathon match, winning at North Baltimore, 19-25, 25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 17-15, on Wednesday night. It was the sixth match in the last five days for the Falcons (9-8, 4-4 Blanchard Valley Conference).

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale girls soccer team cruised to a 10-0 victory against Galion on Wednesday. Gabi Rodriguez scored three times, and Reygan Frey had two goals.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk’s seventh and eighth grade football teams both defeated Upper Sandusky by scores of 44-0 on Tuesday. Kendall Blair ran for three touchdowns in the seventh-grade game, and Collin Barth had two rushing touchdowns and three two-point conversions.

The Upper Sandusky Cheetahs 10U soccer team has started the season 2-2. The Cheetahs lost their opener, 4-2, to the Hardin County YMCA Kickers.

CAREY — There’s no place no like home for the Carey volleyball team. The Blue Devils remained perfect in their new gym and avenged an early-season sweep at Mohawk by returning the favor, 25-16, 25-23, 25-16, on Tuesday night.

Megan Hensel’s third career hat trick was only the second biggest milestone in Upper Sandusky’s 6-0 girls soccer victory over Toledo Christian at the USHS football stadium Tuesday during the Rams senior game. Hensel’s first goal came just more than a minute into the contest off a landmark assist by Sierra Carey. Carey centered the ball for her teammate to record her 29th career assist, passing 2015 graduate Jaime Calvin for a new program record.

GALION — Wynford finished in eighth place Tuesday in the Division II sectional girls golf tournament at Valley View Golf Course. The top three teams, plus the top three individuals from non-advancing teams, qualify for next week’s district tournament.

Alaney Oney had nine kills to lead Upper Sandusky to a 26-24, 25-10, 25-17 victory against Upper Sandusky on Tuesday night. Oney added two aces and six digs while finishing 21-of-23 hitting.

BUCYRUS — Colonel Crawford came back after losing the first set to defeat Wynford, 18-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-21, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Tuesday. Tara Zinser led Wynford (6-11, 4-7 N10) at the net with 14 kills, with Jenna Coffman and Macey Zinser each recording four.
