Burger’s 3-set victory makes Rams winners

KENTON — Paige Burger rallied for a three-set victory to give Upper Sandusky a 3-2 win against Kenton in a girls tennis match Wednesday at Kenton. After dropping the first set in a tiebreak, she came back to beat Abby Hartshorn, 6-7 (4-7), 6-4, 6-3, in the No. 2 singles match that lasted nearly two and a half hours.

Carey sets 9-hole school record

CAREY — Having already broken the school 18-hole record, the Carey golf team broke the nine-hole record Wednesday in a 151-196 defeat of North Baltimore at Bob’s Countryside Golf Course. The Blue Devils’ previous nine-hole record was 153.

Gerlach leads Wynford with 99

TIFFIN — Annika Gerlach shot a 99 to lead Wynford to an eighth-place finish Wednesday in the Seneca Hills Invitational at Seneca Hills Golf Course near Tiffin. Ashland was the winner by a wide margin, shooting a 327.

Upper Sandusky High School all-sport passes are available for the 2016-17 school year. These passes allow holders to attend all Upper Sandusky High School and Upper Sandusky Middle School home athletic contests (excluding tournaments) for one price.

Mohawk picks up win over rival Carey

Perhaps facing its biggest challenger in its Northern 10 Athletic Conference opener, Mohawk came through with a key 170-179 victory against rival Carey in a boys golf match Tuesday at Lincoln Hills Golf Club. The two-time defending N10 champion Warriors (1-0 N10) got 39s from both Chet Margraf and Carson Weinandy, who shared medalist honors.

Rockets edge Rams by a stroke

BUCYRUS — Ridgedale moved to 2-0 in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference by edging Upper Sandusky, 180-181, in a boys golf match Tuesday at The Golf Club of Bucyrus. The Rockets’ Mitchill Reasoner earned medalist honors with a 41 on a rainy day when scoring well was difficult.
