Margarum rallies Clyde past Upper

Cam Margarum scored five goals in the final 21 minutes to rally Clyde from a four-goal deficit in a 6-5 victory against Upper Sandusky in a season-opening boys soccer match Saturday night. Cameron Brady’s second goal gave the Rams (0-1) a 4-0 lead with 30:12 remaining, but Margarum took over down the stretch.

Blue Devils get 2 easy wins in new gym

CAREY — Carey had little trouble on its way to two victories in a season-opening tri-match Saturday. In the first varsity athletic contest held in the new Carey school gymnasium, the Blue Devils topped North Baltimore, 25-12, 25-14, and Fostoria St. Wendelin, 25-14, 25-12.

Colonel Crawford rallies to beat Riverdale in 5 sets

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Colonel Crawford rallied from a set down to defeat Riverdale, 18-25, 25-23, 18-25, 25-15, 15-9, in a non-conference volleyball match Saturday at Riverdale. Carrol Pauley led the Falcons (0-1) with 10 kills on 18-of-25 hitting, while adding seven digs and an ace.

Ottawa Hills pulls away for 4-1 win over Riverdale

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Defense kept Riverdale in the match, but Ottawa Hills eventually overwhelmed the Falcons in a 4-1 boys soccer victory Saturday night. The Green Bears scored twice in the final six minutes of the first half, and after an Ethan Melroy goal early in the second half, Riverdale (0-1) was back in it before two Ottawa Hills goals in the final 15 minutes.

Red Devils top Royals in volleyball

ARLINGTON — Arlington won a close opening set and then won the next two more easily in a 25-22, 25-13, 25-17 sweep of Wynford in volleyball action Saturday. Freshman Lainey Holman led the Royals (0-1) with seven kills on 15-of-16 hitting, while Macey Zinser and Olivia Grove each had three kills.

Falcons shut out Hornets in opener

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Gabi Rodriguez scored on a direct kick six seconds before halftime to propel Riverdale to a season-opening 3-0 victory against Cory-Rawson on Friday in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association match.

The Upper Thunder girls fastpitch travel organization is having tryouts at the Upper Sandusky youth baseball fields today. Tryouts for girls born in 2004 and 2005 are from 11-11:30 a.m. for pitchers and catchers and from 11:30-12:30 p.m. for infielders and outfielders. Upper sweeps Buckeye Valley

The Upper Sandusky girls tennis team remained undefeated on the season with a 5-0 victory against Buckeye Valley at home Thursday. The Rams (3-0) rolled in all matches except No. 1 singles, in which Sara Gier split two sets with Alexis Poulton, 6-4, 3-6, before winning a super tiebreak, 10-8, to complete a sweep.

Blue Devils top Red Devils by 30

ARLINGTON — Carey won by 30 strokes, 165-195, against Arlington in a non-league golf match Thursday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. Marcus Miller led the Blue Devils with a 39, while Trey Bame and Easton Roark both shot 41s.
