SYCAMORE — Pre-sale tickets for Mohawk’s boys basketball Division IV district semifinal game are available in the high school office until noon Wednesday. They are $6 for adults and $4 for students in advance. All tickets at the door are $6.

TIFFIN — The Tiffin Cal Ripken D League will have tryouts at 1 p.m. April 1 at Jocko Huffman Field at Hedges Boyer Park. Players who are 11 but not yet 13 by May 1 are eligible.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale High School is accepting resumes for head volleyball coach for the 2017-18 school year. Applicants must possess or be willing to take or acquire National Federation of State High Schools Association fundamentals of coaching course, CPR licensure and a pupil activity permit.

The Ram Boosters are selling raffle tickets for three photos in one frame, autographed by three Ohio State University legends in different sports: football player Archie Griffin, basketball player Jerry Lucas and golfer Jack Nicklaus.

VAN BUREN — The Wyandot County Indians are headed to the state tournament after a pair of victories this weekend. The Indians defeated the Defiance County Tigers, 69-50, on Saturday, and then topped the Auglaize County Mustangs, 80-73, in overtime, on Sunday in the Special Olympics Division III West Section tournament at Van Buren High School.

LIMA — Trailing by nine points midway through the third quarter, Kenton looked to be on the verge of falling away during its sectional final basketball contest with Upper Sandusky. The Wildcats, who led by one point at halftime, regained their footing, however, and pulled within a single point several times late in the game, before the No. 2 seed Rams finally hung on for a 68-67 victory at Lima Senior on Friday night.

MANSFIELD — Upper Sandusky’s Noah Clary and Noah Frey advanced to the semifinals of their weight classes in the Division II district wrestling tournament Friday at Mansfield Senior. Six of the Rams’ other seven wrestlers still are in contention, having gone 1-1 on the first day.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Mohawk jumped out to an early lead and held off a late surge by Hopewell-Loudon in a 50-45 win Friday night at Riverdale High School. Sophomore Kaiden Hammer lit it up from long distance with a career-high seven 3-pointers to lead the Warriors to their first sectional title since 2007.

ELIDA — With Luke Denecker going down with an injury only a minute and a half into the game, Bluffton needed someone to step up. Gabe Denecker did just that. The 6-foot-4 senior forward scored 22 points and had seven rebounds to lead the Pirates to a 50-39 victory against cold-shooting Carey in a Division III sectional final boys basketball game Friday night at Elida Fieldhouse.

LEXINGTON — Wynford couldn’t keep up with South Central’s shooting clip in an 84-59 loss Friday in a Division IV sectional final at Lexington. The Trojans (15-9) shot 32 of 48 from the field (67 percent), including 17 of 23 (74 percent) in the second half.
