Riverdale seeks apps for varsity volleyball coach

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale High School is accepting resumes for head volleyball coach for the 2017-18 school year. Applicants must possess or be willing to take or acquire National Federation of State High Schools Association fundamentals of coaching course, CPR licensure and a pupil activity permit.

The Ram Boosters are selling raffle tickets for three photos in one frame, autographed by three Ohio State University legends in different sports: football player Archie Griffin, basketball player Jerry Lucas and golfer Jack Nicklaus.

Vent scores 29 to help Rams hold off Wildcats

The Wildcats, who led by one point at halftime, regained their footing, however, and pulled within a single point several times late in the game, before the No. 2 seed Rams finally hung on for a 68-67 victory at Lima Senior on Friday night.

Upper’s Clary, Frey reach semis

MANSFIELD — Upper Sandusky’s Noah Clary and Noah Frey advanced to the semifinals of their weight classes in the Division II district wrestling tournament Friday at Mansfield Senior. Six of the Rams’ other seven wrestlers still are in contention, having gone 1-1 on the first day.

Denecker, Pirates top cold-shooting Blue Devils in sectional final

ELIDA — With Luke Denecker going down with an injury only a minute and a half into the game, Bluffton needed someone to step up. Gabe Denecker did just that. The 6-foot-4 senior forward scored 22 points and had seven rebounds to lead the Pirates to a 50-39 victory against cold-shooting Carey in a Division III sectional final boys basketball game Friday night at Elida Fieldhouse.
