BVC champ Tigers top Blue Devils

CAREY — Blanchard Valley Conference champion North Baltimore scored five runs in the top of the seventh inning to put away Carey, 8-3, in a non-conference softball game Thursday. The Tigers (16-5) scored twice in the third inning and once in the fourth for a 3-0 lead, but the Blue Devils (7-4) fought back with single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to make it a one-run game.

Rams double up Whippets, 12-6

SHELBY — Upper Sandusky fired off 19 hits in a 12-6 non-league softball victory at Shelby on Thursday. The Rams (15-4) scored five runs in the top of the first inning, and after giving up two in the bottom, they added one each in the second and third, three in the fourth and two in the fifth to take a 12-2 lead.

Shelby pitcher Hoffman 1-hits Upper Sandusky

SHELBY — Hunter Hoffman threw a one-hitter with three walks and six strikeouts as Shelby shut out Upper Sandusky, 12-0, in five innings in a non-conference baseball game Thursday. The Whippets (18-3) scored six times in the first inning, once each in the second and third innings and four times in the fourth inning.

Errors help Eagles top Falcons in 7th

NORTH ROBINSON — Key miscues in the bottom of the seventh allowed Colonel Crawford to score three runs and walk off with an 8-7 victory over Riverdale in a non-league baseball game Thursday. The Eagles (9-8) took a 3-0 lead with a run in the first inning and two in the third.

Upper walks off with win over Mohawk

Upper Sandusky’s junior varsity baseball team walked off a 14-13 winner against Mohawk on Wednesday. The Rams’ Wyatt Swartz had three hits, and Conner Byrne, Brandon Giesey, Jaxson Passet, Dalton Ohl and Ashton Shepherd had two hits apiece.

Rams win wild extra-inning game

SYCAMORE — A whipping wind and a wild finish highlighted Upper Sandusky’s win over Mohawk in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Wednesday. After both teams scored a pair of runs in one extra inning, Ben Sheaffer scored from first base on an error to put the Rams (10-9, 8-3 N10) ahead in the top of the ninth, and Arik Schneider (2-3) held the Warriors scoreless in the bottom to preserve an 8-7 victory.
