Rams walk off with 1-0 win over Royals

Erika Rosario delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh to score Cassidy Rall for the only run in Upper Sandusky’s 1-0 victory against Wynford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Tuesday. A senior, Rosario came into the game hitting just .125 but came through with two of six Upper Sandusky hits against Wynford freshman pitcher Hannah Messmer, who walked just one and struck out six.

Riverdale baseball routs Bluffton, 18-1

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale dominated Bluffton with three big innings in an 18-1 victory in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday. The Falcons (9-8) scored six times in the second inning, five times in the third and five times in the fifth.

Bluffton scores 7 in 3rd to pull away

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Bluffton scored four times in the first and seven times in the third inning of a 12-2 five-inning non-conference softball victory Tuesday at Riverdale. The Falcons (2-14) took an early 1-0 lead and cut their deficit to 4-2 before the Pirates’ biggest inning.

Mohawk offense explodes in 3rd

SYCAMORE — Raeanna Garber’s three-run home run keyed a nine-run third inning as Mohawk softball quickly erased a five-run deficit and beat Ridgedale, 15-5, in five innings in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Monday.

Rams to face Sailors in sectional

Upper Sandusky (16-4) received a No. 4 seed and a bye into the sectional finals to face No. 5 Vermilion (13-4) at 5 p.m. May 12 in softball tournament draws held Sunday. No. 7 Norwalk (11-6) and No. 8 Ontario meet in one of the first-round games at 5 p.m. May 9, and the winner gets No. 2 Bellevue as part of the Edison district.

Mohawk baseball receives No. 1 seed in Clyde district

Mohawk earned the No. 1 seed in its district and a bye into the sectional finals in tournament baseball draws held Sunday. No. 7 Fremont St. Joseph (5-6) and No. 9 Vanlue (2-11) meet in one of the sectional semifinals, all of which are scheduled for 5 p.m. May 9, and the winner travels to Mohawk (14-3) for one of the 5 p.m.

Tennis camp June 7-9, 14-16

Upper Sandusky High School will host a tennis camp for boys and girls entering grades 6-9 from 10-11:30 a.m. 6-9 from June 7-9 and 14-16 at the USHS tennis courts. The camp is being organized through the United States Tennis Association’s Midwest Team Tennis initiative, and with completed on-time registration, each camper receives a tennis racket, T-shirt, ball, player bag and a USTA junior membership.
