Mohawk relay struggles to 16th-place finish

COLUMBUS — Mohawk’s girls distance relay finally made it to state, but once it was there, it felt every bit of the pressure. The Warriors did not run nearly as well as the 9:51.26 at Fairfield Union regionals that qualified them for state. Williamsburg run rules Carey

AKRON — Carey’s first state tournament appearance was a short one. Victims of early errors and a pair of three-run blasts, the Blue Devils fell 10-0 to Williamsburg in a five-inning Division IV semifinal at Firestone Stadium in Akron.

Lefty Wagers overwhelms Blue Devils

AKRON — There was little Carey could do to be prepared for the best player it has faced all season. Williamsburg junior pitcher Carly Wagers asserted her dominance both in the circle and at the plate in a 10-0 Wildcats victory over the Blue Devils on Thursday in the Division IV state semifinals at Firestone Stadium in Akron.
