NEW RIEGEL — New Riegel earned a 4-3 walkoff win over Carey in a non-conference softball game Monday. Both teams scored two runs in the fourth inning, with New Riegel taking a 3-2 lead in the fifth.

McCOMB — McComb topped Riverdale 10-4 in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Monday. The Panthers plated two runs each in the bottom of the first and second innings before Riverdale (7-4, 3-2 BVC) got on the board in the top of the third.

McCOMB — Riverdale fell to 0-10 with a 14-4 loss at McComb in six innings Monday. The Falcons fizzled out after a 4-0 start in the top of the first inning.

More than 250 people celebrated Easter at Harrison Smith Park on Saturday morning. Children ages 2-12 hunted and pecked through the lawn for 15,000 colorful plastic eggs filled with candy in this second year for what has become an annual event put on by the Apostolic Gospel Church.

The 1965-66 and 1966-67 Carey boys basketball teams that combined to go 43-3 were inducted into the Wyandot Sports Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

CALEDONIA — Miami Trace edged Upper Sandusky for the championship in the River Valley Invitational boys tennis tournament Saturday. Both teams finished with 17 points, but the Panthers were declared the winner due to having a higher No. 1 singles finish.

CLYDE — Alizhah Watson won the 100 dash and the long jump to lead Wynford in the A.W. Hendricks Invitational on Saturday at Clyde. The Wynford boys finished sixth with 29 points.

FINDLAY — After winning just one game over the last two seasons, the Wynford softball team won two Saturday, beating Liberty-Benton, 7-4, and then 7-5 in eight innings in the second game of a doubleheader. The Eagles (6-6) rallied to tie the second game after trailing 4-0, but the Royals (3-5) scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning and then kept their opponent scoreless in the bottom.

CAREY — Bluffton scored three runs or more in three separate innings in an 11-5 non-conference baseball victory at Carey on Saturday. The Pirates (4-6) scored three times in the first inning and four times each in the second and fourth innings.
