SHELBY — Hunter Hoffman threw a one-hitter with three walks and six strikeouts as Shelby shut out Upper Sandusky, 12-0, in five innings in a non-conference baseball game Thursday. The Whippets (18-3) scored six times in the first inning, once each in the second and third innings and four times in the fourth inning.

NORTH ROBINSON — Key miscues in the bottom of the seventh allowed Colonel Crawford to score three runs and walk off with an 8-7 victory over Riverdale in a non-league baseball game Thursday. The Eagles (9-8) took a 3-0 lead with a run in the first inning and two in the third.

Upper Sandusky’s junior varsity baseball team walked off a 14-13 winner against Mohawk on Wednesday. The Rams’ Wyatt Swartz had three hits, and Conner Byrne, Brandon Giesey, Jaxson Passet, Dalton Ohl and Ashton Shepherd had two hits apiece.

NORTH ROBINSON — Colonel Crawford beat Riverdale 17-1 in a non-league softball game Thursday. The Falcons (1-14) did not record a hit against Eagles pitcher Sydney Studer.

SYCAMORE — A whipping wind and a wild finish highlighted Upper Sandusky’s win over Mohawk in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Wednesday. After both teams scored a pair of runs in one extra inning, Ben Sheaffer scored from first base on an error to put the Rams (10-9, 8-3 N10) ahead in the top of the ninth, and Arik Schneider (2-3) held the Warriors scoreless in the bottom to preserve an 8-7 victory.

SYCAMORE — Against a team that hits the way Upper Sandusky does, there is little margin for error. Mohawk hung close until the seventh, but too many mistakes led to a 10-3 Rams victory in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Van Buren plated four runs on two first-inning errors on the way to a 7-2 victory over Riverdale in Blanchard Valley Conference baseball Wednesday. The Falcons (8-6, 3-4 BVC) cut the lead to 4-2 in the bottom of the second, but the Black Knights kept them at bay the rest of the way, padding their lead with two runs in the fifth and one in the sixth.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Van Buren scored eight runs in the first inning of a 14-2 victory over Riverdale in a Blanchard Valley Conference softball game Wednesday. The Black Knights added two runs in the second inning before Riverdale plated one in the bottom of the second.

ATTICA — Upper Sandusky scored six times each in the second and fifth innings in a 12-0 victory Tuesday at Seneca East. Blayc Hacker had four singles and scored two runs, and Cassidy Rall and Maddy Stansbery each singled twice.

ATTICA — Upper Sandusky’s girls were first and the boys were second in a five-team junior high meet Monday at Seneca East. The Rams girls edged the host Tigers, 108.5-98, with Tiffin Calvert third with 60 points.
