Blue Devils pull away from Redmen in late innings

BUCYRUS — Carey scored all of its runs in the final three innings of a 9-1 victory at Bucyrus in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday. The Redmen (2-15, 2-11 N10) scored once in the first inning on a Donna Richardson double after Loareal Mollenkopf singled, and their 1-0 lead held up until the Blue Devils (9-4, 7-2 N10) scored four times in the fifth inning, twice in the sixth and three more times in the seventh.

Vikings defeat Falcons, 9-2

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Leipsic won a Blanchard Valley Conference softball game at Riverdale, 9-2, on Wednesday. The road team scored a run each in the second and third innings before opening a 7-0 lead with five in the fourth.

Leipsic shuts out Riverdale

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Leipsic shut out Riverdale, 5-0, in a Blanchard Valley Conference baseball game Wednesday. The Falcons recorded six hits — two singles each by Trey Miller, Alec Loveridge and Austin VandenBosch.

Schneider leads Upper to 3-2 win over Wynford

Arik Schneider threw a three-hitter and delivered the game’s biggest hit to help Upper Sandusky defeat Wynford, 3-2, in a chilly and windy Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Tuesday. With the Rams trailing 2-1, the left-handed junior Schneider drove the ball deep to right field to score Parker Frombaugh after he had singled to lead off the bottom of the sixth.

Rams walk off with 1-0 win over Royals

Erika Rosario delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the seventh to score Cassidy Rall for the only run in Upper Sandusky’s 1-0 victory against Wynford in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Tuesday. A senior, Rosario came into the game hitting just .125 but came through with two of six Upper Sandusky hits against Wynford freshman pitcher Hannah Messmer, who walked just one and struck out six.

Riverdale baseball routs Bluffton, 18-1

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Riverdale dominated Bluffton with three big innings in an 18-1 victory in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday. The Falcons (9-8) scored six times in the second inning, five times in the third and five times in the fifth.

Bluffton scores 7 in 3rd to pull away

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Bluffton scored four times in the first and seven times in the third inning of a 12-2 five-inning non-conference softball victory Tuesday at Riverdale. The Falcons (2-14) took an early 1-0 lead and cut their deficit to 4-2 before the Pirates’ biggest inning.

Mohawk offense explodes in 3rd

SYCAMORE — Raeanna Garber’s three-run home run keyed a nine-run third inning as Mohawk softball quickly erased a five-run deficit and beat Ridgedale, 15-5, in five innings in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Monday.
