BUCYRUS — Wynford’s junior varsity baseball team edged Upper Sandusky, 6-5, on Tuesday.

The Upper Sandusky girls junior high track and field team topped Mohawk, 83-39, while the Rams boys were 68.5-53.5 winners Wednesday at Upper Sandusky. Gracie Manns won the 200 dash in 29.12, Emma Brown was first in the 400 dash in 1:07, and Liz Plymale took the top spot in the 1600 run in 6:17 for the Rams.

BUCYRUS — Early Upper Sandusky errors allowed Wynford to get its runners moving, and the Royals seemed to break out of their slide. Jalon Brown and Caleb Stone each nabbed a hit and scored in the sloppy frame to put Wynford up 2-0, and it was more than enough.

SYCAMORE — The Mohawk baseball team had a redeeming effort Wednesday in a 9-2 victory against Seneca East. Nine days earlier, errors led to a big inning for the Tigers in a 5-1 loss.

Blayc Hacker tossed a no-hitter in a 10-0 Upper Sandusky victory at Wynford on Wednesday. Hacker (10-2) struck out 12 batters and walked one in five innings.

SYCAMORE — Hannah Jordan pitched a four-hit shutout with nine strikeouts and got plenty of run support in Mohawk’s 9-0 Northern 10 Athletic Conference victory Wednesday against Seneca East. The Warriors (12-8, 9-5 N10) scored once in the first inning, twice in the third inning, once in the fifth and then blew the game open with a five-run sixth.

Upper Sandusky played its sectional lineup for the first time in a 4-1 boys tennis victory over Galion on Wednesday. Top singles player Nate Hensel reunited with Turner Dilley at No. 1 doubles in a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Nick Oehler and Matt Sparks, and Alex Brodman and Noah Frey teamed up for a 6-4, 6-3 win over Max Papanhouser and Ty Harris at No. 2 doubles.

BUCYRUS — Carey won its sixth straight game, and coach Joey Roark became the school’s all-time leader in baseball coaching wins with a 9-4 victory at Bucyrus on Wednesday. Roark’s 77th win passed previous coach Eric Vackert’s total of 76 wins from 2001-08, which was one better than Roark’s own coach, Rick Miller, who won 75 games from 1983-93.
