CARDINGTON — Cardington-Lincoln scored multiple runs in each of the first four innings of a 13-6 victory against Mohawk in a non-conference baseball game Monday. The Pirates scored three times in the first inning, twice in the second, four times in the third, and after the Warriors (17-4) got on the board with three runs in the top of the fourth, Cardington scored three times in the bottom of the fourth.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk plated seven runs in the first three innings against Arcadia and cruised to a 7-2 non-league victory Saturday morning. The Warriors (17-3) scored three runs in the first inning, one in the second and three in the third.

MOUNT GILEAD — Wynford’s boys won four events and took fifth Saturday in the Mount Gilead Invitational. The Royals scored 61 points. Mount Gilead won big over Northmor, 160-106.5. Wynford’s girls were eighth with 46 points. Mount Gilead’s girls topped Columbus Academy, 114-88.

CAREY — Mohawk’s girls team cruised to the championship in the Northern 10 Athletic Conference junior high meet Saturday at Carey. The Warriors scored 149 points, with second-place Upper Sandusky scoring 111.3 points. Wynford and Carey tied for fifth with 33 points.

SYCAMORE — Avita is providing free physicals to Mohawk students from 4-8 p.m. May 22 at Buckeye Central. Students from Buckeye Central, Seneca East and Plymouth also are invited.

Upper Sandusky High School will host a tennis camp for boys and girls entering grades 6-9 from 10-11:30 a.m. 6-9 from June 7-9 and 14-16 at the USHS tennis courts.

Upper Sandusky High School will be hosting sports camps this summer. A baseball clinic will be held for students rising into grades 2-7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 20.

The Memorial Day 5K Fun Run/Walk is scheduled for May 20 to benefit the Upper Sandusky Middle School eighth grade trip to Washignton, D.C. Registration begins at 3 p.m. and the race at 4 p.m. beginning at Stepping Stones Park.

The Upper Sandusky tennis program has come close to the peak of what it can accomplish in its current state. As it stands, the Rams teach the game to players when they join the team in high school, none of them having played before. Coach Aaron Frazee wants to change that to take the program to the next level.
