HARROD — The Riverdale Falcons had their opportunities to capitalize against Allen East, but it was the Mustangs who came up big in critical situations, taking the 7-1 Division III sectional baseball win on Wednesday. After surrendering one run in the first inning, Riverdale (9-12) looked ready to answer in the second.

CAREY — Carey smashed 13 extra-base hits, including six home runs in routing Bucyrus, 23-1, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday. Dani Berardinelli-Clark hit her fifth and sixth home runs of the season and also doubled and singled while driving in five runs and scoring three times.

NEW WASHINGTON — Wynford scored 10 runs in the fourth through sixth innings to rally from a five-run deficit and beat Buckeye Central, 13-9, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Wednesday in New Washington.

MORRAL — Mohawk scored 15 times in the third inning and routed Ridgedale, 23-4, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Wednesday. Cole Widmer was 5 for 5 with 5 RBIs, while Tanner Osborn went 2 for 4 with his fourth home run of the season.

BUCYRUS — Wynford notched 11 hits and scored 11 runs to help Noah Smith to his first varsity pitching win, 11-2, over Buckeye Central in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference baseball game Wednesday. Smith (1-0) went the distance, giving up two unearned runs on seven hits and three walks with eight strikeouts.

The Upper Sandusky junior varsity softball team completed its season with a 16-6 victory against Colonel Crawford in six innings Tuesday. Maddie Schwilk had two triples and a single, and Hananah McKinniss had a triple and a single.

Upper Sandusky 16-year-old disc golfer Lacey Brugler has proven she made a good decision to turn pro following last year’s Professional Disc Golf Association and Amateur and Junior Disc Golf Championships. Within the span of about one month, the rookie professional has won three tournament championships.

CRESTLINE — Wynford plated three runs in the first inning and pitched a pair of seniors to an 8-3 victory at Crestline on Monday in a sectional semifinal. The No. 7 seed Royals (9-11) advance to play at No. 4 Ridgemont, which was an 11-0 winner over Mansfield Christian, at 5 p.m. Thursday.

BUCYRUS — Buckeye Central took an early lead, but Wynford’s offense overwhelmed in a 10-6 Northern 10 Athletic Conference softball game Tuesday. The Bucks scored four times in the first inning, and after the Royals scored three times in the second inning, Buckeye Central went up 6-3 with two runs in the third.
