Rams sweeps Barons in tennis action

DELAWARE — A short-handed Buckeye Valley team was no match for Upper Sandusky, which swept a girls tennis match, 5-0, on Monday in Delaware. The Barons (0-2) were without their top two singles players because of injuries.

Comets get win

NEW BLOOMINGTON — Mohawk got a 49 from Alayna Kindle but came up short, 187-221, against Elgin in a girls golf dual match Monday at Windy Acres Golf Course. The Warriors got three scores in the 50s after Kindle’s 49: a 54 from Kayla Risner and 59s from Hayden Heilman and Emmah Danner.

Upper edges Seneca East in N10 match

TIFFIN — Brett Montgomery shot a 38 to medal and lead Upper Sandusky to a 175-178 victory against Seneca East in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf match Monday at Clinton Heights Golf Course. Montgomery had back-to-back birdies on Nos. 12 and 13.

Sand Zaebst lead Royals past Falcons

ARLINGTON — Riverdale’s Andrew Kuenzli was medalist with a 42, but Wynford had the five next-best scores in a 191-220 non-conference boys golf victory Monday at Sycamore Springs Golf Course. Logan Sand paced the Royals (2-6) with a 45, with Mitchell Zaebst one stroke behind with a 46.

Frey’s 2 goals help Falcons win first

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Logan Frey had a pair of goals as Riverdale picked up its first win of the season, 4-1 over Miller City in a non-conference boys soccer match Saturday night. After a scoreless 36 minutes, Coby Miller got the Falcons on the board with four minutes left in the first half.

Riverdale pulls away for 5-1 win

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Reygan Frey scored two goals to lead Riverdale to a 5-1 girls soccer victory against Continental on Saturday evening. Haley Frey, Brandi Borkosky and Gabi Rodriguez also had goals for the Falcons (2-1).

Kenton wears down Upper for 9-0 win

Upper Sandusky held Kenton in check for most of the first half, but the Wildcats exploded for seven second-half goals in a 9-0 victory in boys soccer action Saturday night. The Wildcats (4-0) did not score until Landon Bartlett converted with 11:55 remaining in the first half.

Hensel, Oney score in Upper’s 2-2 draw

KENTON — Upper Sandusky took advantage of limited chances to earn a 2-2 draw against Kenton in girls soccer action Saturday evening. Alivia Oney’s goal into the upper, left corner on a direct kick from 25 yards out with 8:31 remaining tied the match despite the Wildcats holding a 21-3 advantage in shots.
