BUCYRUS — Wynford picked up its second straight win with a 3-0 sweep of Ridgedale in Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball action Monday night. Lainey Holman contributed eight kills and five blocks, and Macey Zinser had seven kills and four aces for the Royals (6-10, 4-6 N10).

ARLINGTON — The Riverdale volleyball team stole the opening set but Arlington asserted itself after that in a 24-26, 25-6, 25-18, 25-11 victory in Blanchard Valley Conference action Monday.

TIFFIN — Freshman Jake Forehand shot a 1-over-par 37 to earn medalist honors and lead Seneca East to a 167-181 victory against Mohawk in the final Northern 10 Athletic Conference boys golf dual of the season Monday at Clinton Heights Golf Course.

GALION — Wynford’s boys finished third and the girls fourth Saturday in the Crawford County Meet at Ammans’ Park Reservoir. Colonel Crawford took home both championships by a wide margin. Jaidyn Thiel scored two second-half goals, and the Upper Sandusky boys soccer team rallied past Mansfield Senior, 5-2, for its second win of the season.

Megan Hensel set a program record with five goals and 11 points as Upper Sandusky ran away from Mansfield Senior, 10-2, in a non-conference girls soccer match Saturday. Jaime Calvin and Sarah Rall previously held the single-game goal record, while Calvin was the single-game points record holder.

FINDLAY — Carey’s girls took home the championship Saturday in the Van Buren Invitational at Owens Community College. The Blue Devils topped Toledo Central Catholic, 58-70, for first place, with Oak Harbor right behind with 72 points. Riverdale was fifth with 118 points.

COLUMBUS — Ohio State took to the air in a dominant win over UNLV at home Saturday. Seven different Buckeye receivers caught a touchdown pass, and three Ohio State quarterbacks combined for 474 yards passing — both new single-game school records — in a 54-21 victory.

ONTARIO — Madelyn Shasteen was eighth to lead Upper Sandusky’s girls cross country team to a fourth-place finish Saturday in the Bill Brown Invitational at Marshall Park in Ontario.

FREMONT — Destini Oler was runner-up to lead Mohawk’s girls to a fourth-place finish Saturday in the Fremont St. Joseph Streak Invitational at Walsh Park.
