Mohawk tops Bucyrus in 4 sets

SYCAMORE — Mohawk overcame a bad second set to defeat Bucyrus, 25-16, 22-25, 25-15, 25-15, in a Northern 10 Athletic Conference volleyball match Thursday night. Madi Chester led the Warriors (4-2, 2-2 N10) with 15 kills and 14 digs, while Kaylee Ward had 12 kills, eight digs and three blocks.

Riverdale rally comes up just short

MORRAL — Riverdale rallied from a 2-0 deficit to force a fifth set, but it was Ridgedale that picked up its first victory of the season, 25-22, 25-20, 17-25, 23-25, 15-10, on Thursday night in a non-conference volleyball match. “Our defense really stepped up, and I couldn’t be any more proud of the fight we put up after being down two sets to none, and we battled our way back into the competition,” Riverdale coach Trey Wheeler said.

Presidents sweep doubles matches, edge Rams

Marion Harding got a win at No. 1 singles and a pair of competitive doubles wins to top Upper Sandusky, 3-2, in a girls tennis match Wednesday. The Presidents’ Hunter Stoneburner and Veda Patterson defeated Mara Smalley and Mady West, 6-4, 6-3, in the No. 1 doubles match, and Nicole Flock and Autumn Rawlins were 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 winners over Emma Schoenberger and Lyndsey McQuown.
