Safety blotter: May 6, 2019

A caller reported a breaking and entering attempt at the concession stand at American Legion Field in Sycamore the afternoon of May 1. Extra patrols were performed in the area. Mandeep S. Sandhu, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, was cited for failure to control after a semi truck he was driving was stuck in a yard on the 11000 block of CH 4 the afternoon of May 1.

Safety blotter: May 3, 2019

Officers responded to a call of a reckless vehicle at the intersection of South Sandusky Avenue and Johnson Street the morning of May 2. The driver admitted to not sleeping in 24 hours and agreed to park their vehicle and call for a ride home.

Safety blotter: May 2, 2019

Jason P. Shifflett, Greeneville, Tennessee, was cited for driving under suspension, expired plates and possession of marijuana following a traffic stop on U.S. 23 southbound near CH 121 the morning of May 1. An officer on patrol observed a resident on the 300 block of West Finley Street burning a large pile of sticks in their back yard the afternoon of May 1. The resident was advised of the city’s burning ordinance and how to comply. The fire was extinguished.

An officer found an unlocked door at the rear of Kustom Karts on the 100 block of Fairview Street the early morning of April 30. No signs of criminal activity were observed. The officer locked the door and dispatch advised an employee of the issue.

A Sycamore man was traveling northbound on Ohio 231 when he struck a deer that entered the roadway, causing minor damage the early morning of April 27. Colin R. Blackmore-Ide, Clearwater, Florida, was cited for failure to control after a two vehicle accident on Ohio 15 near CH 21, causing disabling damage to both vehicles the afternoon of April 28.

An officer assisted Wyandot County EMS at Fairhaven the early morning of April 26. The officer drove the squad to Wyandot Memorial Hospital. An officer assisted a Tampa, Florida man with a lockout at the Comfort Inn the morning of April 26. An officer assisted a Columbus woman with a vehicle lockout at Pilot Gas Station the afternoon of April 26.

An Ashland man reported damage to his vehicle on U.S. 30 near CH 98 the afternoon of April 25. Debris flew from a truck and struck the man’s windshield, shattering it. Insurance information was collected. Hugo E. Rosas-Ayala, Upper Sandusky, was arrested on a warrant for no operator’s license (ninth offense) the afternoon of April 25.

Ashleigh N. Thompson, Bucyrus, was transported to the Ohio reformatory for Women in Marysville the morning of April 24 to serve a sentence on charges of possession of heroin. Joel D. Hamlin, Upper Sandusky, was picked up from Logan County Jail and transported to Wyandot County Common Pleas Court the morning of April 24 for a probable cause hearing.

Robert E. Richmond, Marseilles Township, was arrested on a warrant on indictment for passing bad checks the afternoon of April 18. A Tymochtee Township man reported theft from his mailbox on the 5000 block of Ohio 53 the morning of April 18.

Safety blotter: April 23, 2019

Officers were dispatched to Domino’s the early morning of April 13 in regards to an intoxicated male that had fallen asleep in the store. The man was medically cleared by Wyandot Memorial Hospital and was transported to the Wyandot County Jail until he could secure a ride home.
