The mayor of Upper Sandusky on Friday signed the city’s new property maintenance ordinance into law, holding out for 10 days as promised to collect the views of residents. Upper Sandusky City Council approved the ordinance July 5 by a vote of 4-2.

The second annual Upper Sandusky Alumni Girls Slowpitch Tournament was held last weekend. First Citizens National Bank won the tournament championship.

A deputy responded to a 911 call from an intoxicated man in the 17000 block of Ohio 231, Nevada, the night of July 5. The deputy learned from the owner of the residence that the man, a live-in friend, had been drinking with neighbors and came home very drunk.

The highly anticipated sewer separation project in the city of Upper Sandusky is set to begin around 7 a.m. Tuesday on Seventh Street near Bicentennial Park.

The children’s section of the Upper Sandusky Community Library soon will have four new computers after approval Thursday by the library’s board of trustees. Library director Kathleen Whitt said the library has seen an increase in computer use among children for doing homework and playing games, but the computers being used for those purposes are in an adult-focused area of the library.
