Sections of the Upper Sandusky Community Library will receive a face lift after the library trustees board unanimously approved as much as $15,000 out of the capital improvements fund. The board chose rural Upper Sandusky-based Shumaker’s Painting and Wallpapering LLC to complete the project after receiving three bids ranging from $14,000 to more than $31,000.

ANTRIM TOWNSHIP — An Antrim Township man was injured in an all-terrain vehicle crash on TH 10 near TH 56 on Wednesday night. Todd Cover was traveling north on TH 10 around 7:30 p.m. when his ATV turned and rolled to the left side of the roadway, throwing Cover from the seat, according to a report from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.

The John Kennedy Quartet and Becky Blocksom and friends will perform gospel and jazz music at 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at The Star Theatre. Admission is $10. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and tickets will be sold there the night of the show.

BUCYRUS — The Crawford County Community Concert Association will not present The Willis Clan concert Nov. 1 but instead will present The Highwaymen Live, a tribute show band to Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash at 7 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Bucyrus Elementary auditorium.

FINDLAY — Saxophonist Matt Corey will return to the University of Findlay stage from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 28 in the Alumni Memorial Union as part of the free, public Music Bach’s Concert series. Corey takes his audience on a musical ride featuring the saxophone as singer.

MARION — Concert-goers will have the opportunity to take a fun-filled trip back to the care-free days of AM radio and see the legendary 1960s folk rock band The Lovin’ Spoonful perform live at 8 p.m. Friday at the historic Marion Palace Theatre.

A retired state trooper born and raised in Wyandot County is the county’s 2016 disaster preparedness and response volunteer award winner. Mark Sigler spent most of his 35 years in public service as a trooper at the Marion Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The first person to vote in Wyandot County as early voting began Wednesday was nearly nonagenarian Helen Vogel, of Upper Sandusky, according to a press release from the Ohio chapter of Hillary For America.
