Summer maintenance underway at Under Sandusky school buildings

Maintenance work has continued throughout the summer in the Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School District. Board member Jim Morris said at Monday night’s school board meeting volunteer work on the bus garage shed is in progress, and it recently was discovered after removing siding that five posts were rotting and had to be replaced.

Wharton Festival

The Wharton Festival returned Saturday after a two-year hiatus to benefit the Wharton Community Park. Activities included an antique car, truck and motorcycle show, performances by a magician, children’s games and more.

‘Pokemon Go’ craze hits city, parks

In the past two weeks, Upper Sandusky parks have had the usual crowds of walkers, bicyclers and ball players and fans, with little to no rain and warm summer days. But area residents may have noticed the parks have been a little more crowded since the release of “Pokemon Go,” a free smartphone app that has captured the attention of young and old alike.
