A Tiffin woman was sentenced to four years in prison in Wyandot County Common Pleas Court on Monday afternoon. Kendra M. Rochester, 30, was sentenced for a second-degree felony charge of burglary after pleading guilty to the charge in November.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale Local School District is set to update the security cameras on school grounds beginning in late January. At its regular monthly meeting Monday night, the Riverdale Board of Education approved spending of $76,499 from the general fund for the installation of new security cameras from Xtek Partners Inc. of Dublin.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Superintendent Eric Hoffman will be saying goodbye to Riverdale at the end of this school year. At the district’s school board meeting Monday night, Hoffman read and the board approved a motion accepting his retirement resignation as Riverdale superintendent effective Aug. 1, with a last day worked of July 31.

The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners recently reviewed the projects completed during 2016 at the county-owned buildings along South Sandusky Avenue. The costs for the projects in 2016 totaled $348,851.50, with some of the funding being provided through grants.

CAREY — A Mohawk school bus that was supposed to transport students back to Sycamore after the boys basketball game between Mohawk and Carey on Saturday night slid off Ohio 103 on its way to Carey School due to icy road conditions.

A tractor pulling an implement clipped a power line on Ohio 53 near the Wyandot County Fairgrounds around 4:30 p.m. Friday, causing several buildings in the surrounding area, including Upper Sandusky High School, to lose power for about 45 minutes, according to information from the Upper Sandusky Fire Department.
