AEP Ohio reported outages throughout the state of Ohio due to a thunderstorm that produced strong winds and hail Tuesday night, with around eight customer outages in Wyandot County this morning. Outages were widespread throughout the state, with the hardest hit area being Lancaster County. AEP Ohio reported 3,781 total customer outages as of 9:46 a.m.

FOREST — About 572 AEP Ohio customers in and around Forest lost power about 6:43 this morning, according to the company’s website, as temperatures rose overnight to bring an icy mess into the area. Power was expected to be restored by about 11:13 a.m.

The Upper Sandusky Exempted Village School Board agreed to a resolution Monday night to allow Kimmel Cleaners to move forward with a tax agreement as it seeks to expand. The board passed a resolution to approve a community reinvestment area agreement between the city of Upper Sandusky and Kimmel Cleaners Inc.

BUCYRUS — After a presentation from representatives of the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission, about 70 people who attended a public meeting in the Wynford High School auditorium all raised their hands in agreement — they want the board to move forward with a project on the facilities.

BUCYRUS — The Wynford Local Schools Board of Education heard an update on a new employee code of conduct during its regular meeting Monday, with plans to present information to teachers next month before consideration by the board at its February or March board meetings.

The Wyandot County Board of Commissioners is seeking applications for a full-time maintenance assistant at the Wyandot County Courthouse. The deadline for applications is Friday for the position that has not been filled for three or four years, the commissioners said.

CAREY — Tony Wenzinger was voted president of the Carey Exempted Village Schools Board of Education during the district’s organizational meeting Monday. Matt Stombaugh was voted vice president.

NEVADA — Richard Awbrey was voted Nevada Council president during Monday’s village organizational meeting, which was followed by a brief regular meeting.
