FOREST — The village of Forest is taking initial steps to address one of the largest nuisance properties in the town. Known locally as the Old Trailer Factory, the series of buildings has sat vacant for many years.

The Upper Sandusky High School drama department will present its Afternoon of One Acts at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the USHS Little Theater. Tickets are $7 at the door.

MARION — The Marion Palace Theatre will present comedy dog show, Mutts Gone Nuts!, at 3 p.m. Jan. 22. Nine canines, whose talents range from hoop jumping, dancing and catching Frisbees to rope jumping, tight-wire walking and more, unleash havoc and hilarity in an action-packed spectacular.

TIFFIN — The Ritz Theatre’s Friday Night Live series features live music and entertainment in a casual, intimate setting on the National Theatre stage, 30 S. Washington St., Tiffin. This week’s 7:30 p.m. show features folk singer and songwriter Kerry Patrick Clark, of Maumee; acoustic singer and songwriter Brandon Green, Pittsburgh; and folk/Indie/Americana duo The Tuesday Crowd, featuring Brian Gaietto and Hannah Mathias, Tiffin.

The Wyandot County Chamber of Commerce unveiled a new logo and welcomed an Upper Sandusky native to speak at its annual meeting Wednesday morning at Trinity Evangelical United Methodist Church.

SYCAMORE — Several area fire departments responded to a residential blaze at 384 CH 37 in rural Sycamore early Tuesday morning and remained on the scene for more than five hours. The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office received a transferred call from Crawford County at 2:11 a.m. for a structure fire with flames coming from the roof of the residence of Marilyn J. Jenkins, according to a report by the sheriff’s office.

The Wyandot County Safe Communities Coalition and local law enforcement agencies on Tuesday reported there were no fatal traffic accidents on Wyandot County roadways during the busy holiday season, and the number of fatal accidents decreased by 50 percent in the county in 2016 compared to the preceding year.

COLUMBUS — The Ohio Safe Room Rebate Program once again is accepting applications. The program provides a rebate for the purchase and construction/installation of tornado safe rooms for Ohio homeowners selected for the program.

MARSEILLES — Marseilles Village Council is the latest municipality in Wyandot County to approve a lawn maintenance ordinance. The village council on Tuesday passed the third and final reading of the ordinance that sets regulations and enforcement of exterior maintenance requirements, according to meeting minutes.

The regularly scheduled service committee and Upper Sandusky City Council meetings, which would have been Monday, have been moved to Tuesday due to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day holiday. The service committee will meet at 5:30 p.m., followed by council at 7:30 p.m.
