The Wyandot County Sheriff's Office announced a boil alert for a small part of Upper Sandusky early this morning. The affected area includes South Sandusky Avenue from Wyandot Avenue to Crawford Street, West Johnson Street from Fourth to Seventh streets, and West Hicks Street from Fifth to Seventh streets.

A caller reported two men were shooting at geese with a handgun on a property near TH 108 and CH 47, Salem Township, the evening of May 24. The Ohio Department of Natural Resources handled the complaint. Ronald A. Johnson, Nevada, was traveling westbound on TH 70 near TH 10, Antrim Township, early the morning of May 25 when he struck a deer crossing the roadway.

REYNOLDSBURG — The Ohio Department of Agriculture will begin aerial treatments designed to disrupt gypsy moth mating on 8,380 acres in Wyandot and surrounding counties. To help protect Ohio’s diverse habitat, the Ohio Department of Agriculture operates multiple programs aimed at managing the gypsy moth in Ohio.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk High School now is in need of a new sixth- through 12th-grade principal, following the reassignment of current high school principal Brett Graham at Monday evening’s board of education meeting. After five years of being at the high school helm, Graham requested the move to teach physical science, chemistry and physics.

NEVADA — Council voted to approve a $1,200 purchase order for Chuck Daiber to get rid of the overrun Nevada brush pile during Monday night’s council meeting. The brush pile has been closed for several years.

Renovations on a section of the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will be rebid after the initial bid came in more than $30,000 above the estimate Monday. The bid from Damschroder Roofing in Fremont to complete the second phase of the roof project was for $91,505.05.
