Carey school officials give Safe Routes update CAREY — Carey Exempted Village Schools submitted its application for a Safe Routes to School grant earlier this month, Superintendent Mike Wank reported during Monday’s regular board meeting. The district applied for slightly more than $306,000 from the Ohio Department of Transportation to begin a list of items, including a paved bicycle/walk path through Memorial Park from Patterson Street to the school, sidewalk on Glenn Avenue to South Street, signage and crosswalks at Vance and South streets and Vance and Finley streets and additional lighting in Memorial Park.
