Sinkhole

A portion of North Third Street remains closed while city employees investigate the cause of a sinkhole discovered Saturday afternoon. Wastewater collection supervisor Dave Schneider said the road has a single sewer below the street and the city should know the cause and have the street repaired in the next week.

Jerimy J. Higgins, Vanlue, was arrested for a civil protection order violation in the 300 block of South Sandusky Avenue the evening of June 29. An officer assisted an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper with a traffic stop and provided a K9 to support a vehicle search on U.S. 23 at Ohio 199 early the morning of June 30.

Kiwanis adds clothing closets at Upper schools

“Serving the children of the world, one community at a time.” That is Kiwanis International’s mission, and the Upper Sandusky chapter of the service organization is working to put closets filled with new clothing items for children in kindergarten to fourth grades in every Wyandot County elementary school.
