SYCAMORE — Education always has been important to 80-year-old Curtis Jackson. After pushing his three adult children and six grandchildren toward their higher education goals, Jackson now is working toward his own.

Most concrete work is complete or will be completed next week on North Eighth Street and a small area of Church Street between Seventh and Eighth streets. Crews next week will continue with curb and sidewalk replacement along South Seventh and North Seventh streets to Bigelow Street.
