Sycamore days away from controversial rezoning vote

SYCAMORE — Sycamore Village Council members on Tuesday night will vote whether to rezone vacant land at the north end of town in what has become a controversial issue. Citizens flooded public meetings twice in the past month, many urging council members to vote against the request to reclassify the land from residential to business because they don’t like landowner Joel Romanko’s plan to sell it to a company that builds Dollar General stores.
