Wyandot County Commissioners on Monday approved a resolution to tighten up security at the courthouse. Commissioners Steve Seitz and Bill Clinger voted in favor of a proposal from Bigelow Glass to replace three doors on the Wyandot County Courthouse and install security film on window panels.

A high-speed police chase ended in a small burst of flames Monday evening in Wyandot County. The Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office received a transferred call via Marion County from an Upper Sandusky man reporting he was being chased on U.S. 23 by Todd Nicholas of Marion, who he had a protection order against.

An Upper Sandusky woman reported a dead deer in her yard at the 400 block of Raybestos Drive the morning of Aug. 22. The street department was contacted to remove the deer.

Employees at the Upper Sandusky Walmart put yellow capes over their familiar dark blue vests and stepped outside the store for a little fun with the public during the weekend, all for a good cause. Store employees hosted their annual safety carnival in the Walmart parking lot Saturday.

CAREY — A Carey man required a medical helicopter after a rollover crash on the Wyandot-Seneca county line Sunday evening, according to a report from the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office. Jack D. Allison was transported by air ambulance to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, with unspecified injuries.

Christopher J. Vanatta, Findlay, was cited for failure to move or slow down for an emergency vehicle at U.S. 23/30 and East Wyandot Avenue the early morning of Aug. 21. Leah L. Brugman, Upper Sandusky, was cited for driving under suspension at the 1000 block of North Warpole Street the morning of Aug. 21.

ONTARIO — Jean Moon is the Wyandot County recipient of the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging 2017 Outstanding Senior Citizen Award and Community Service Award. Each year the Area Agency on Aging honors senior citizens who are making a difference in their communities and present a positive image of aging, according to a press release from AAA.

Patricia D. Hawk, Upper Sandusky, charged by the police with credit misuse, pleaded no contest, finding deferred on conditions. Jennifer L. Karg, Upper Sandusky, charged by the police with child endangerment, pleaded guilty, found guilty.
