Safety Blotter: August 31, 2017

Following a traffic stop on U.S. 23 the night of July 29, Tasha R. Dombroff, Mansfield, was arrested on a warrant out of Defiance County for failure to appear. During a traffic stop for speed the night of July 29 on U.S. 23 near TH 103, Crawford Township, a passenger, Jaymon E. Dunn, Toledo, was cited for possession of marijuana and a seat belt violation.

American Fine Sinter to invest $20M

TIFFIN — American Fine Sinter announces it will be moving forward with the addition of two production lines at its North American headquarters in Tiffin, investing $20 million in equipment and creating 25 new jobs. Tennessee also was a possible site.

Foggy day

Dense fog settled on Upper Sandusky and the surrounding area this morning. The fog caused Upper Sandusky, Carey, Mohawk, Riverdale and Wynford schools all to close as the fog lingered late into the morning.

Man arrested after fleeing police

A Bellevue man was arrested early this morning after he ran from deputies into a cornfield in Tymochtee Township on Monday evening. A patrolling deputy clocked a vehicle speeding on Ohio 67 just after 6 p.m., and the vehicle pulled into a driveway on the 5400 block where a female driver and male passenger both exited the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s report.
