HARPSTER — The Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspected bank robber. On Aug. 21 at approximately 12:26 p.m., the First Federal Bank in Harpster was robbed.

Following a traffic stop on U.S. 23 the night of July 29, Tasha R. Dombroff, Mansfield, was arrested on a warrant out of Defiance County for failure to appear. During a traffic stop for speed the night of July 29 on U.S. 23 near TH 103, Crawford Township, a passenger, Jaymon E. Dunn, Toledo, was cited for possession of marijuana and a seat belt violation.

TIFFIN — American Fine Sinter announces it will be moving forward with the addition of two production lines at its North American headquarters in Tiffin, investing $20 million in equipment and creating 25 new jobs. Tennessee also was a possible site.

GALION — For nearly 150 years, Longstreth Memorials has been a fixture in Uptowne Galion. The company has move to Ohio 598, allowing it to combine its sales and both its monument and burial vault manufacturing facilities under one roof.

Dense fog settled on Upper Sandusky and the surrounding area this morning. The fog caused Upper Sandusky, Carey, Mohawk, Riverdale and Wynford schools all to close as the fog lingered late into the morning.

A truck cab burst into flames in the parking lot of a gas station Tuesday morning, drawing a quick response from Upper Sandusky firefighters. The department was notified of a fire at Love’s Truck Tire Care around 9:56 a.m., as the 1,000-gallon pumper was returning from a fire drill at Essex Place, according to the USFD report.

A Bellevue man was arrested early this morning after he ran from deputies into a cornfield in Tymochtee Township on Monday evening. A patrolling deputy clocked a vehicle speeding on Ohio 67 just after 6 p.m., and the vehicle pulled into a driveway on the 5400 block where a female driver and male passenger both exited the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s report.

MOUNT BLANCHARD — Despite original funding for a classroom door security project stalling out, Riverdale Local Schools and other Hancock County schools will be able to move forward with the project thanks to local funding.
