Little Brown Jug ‘not meant to be’ A promising week of harness racing didn’t quite live up to expectations for Wyandot County native Brian Brown. Brown trained the top two horses favored to win the Little Brown Jug last Thursday, Downbytheseaside and Fear the Dragon, but they faltered in the headlining event, which is the largest harness horse race in the country and the final leg of the harness racing Triple Crown. Bucyrus student killed in accident BUCYRUS — Authorities have released the name of an 18-year-old woman who died in a jet ski crash in a Crawford County pond Sunday evening. Jacie E. Riverdale board not overly concerned with poor grades on state report card MOUNT BLANCHARD — Despite some poor grades in the recently released state report card, at least one member of the Riverdale Board of Education is not concerned. According to the state report card, which came out two weeks ago, Riverdale received B’s coming in K-3 literacy and graduation, D’s in achievement and prepared for success, and F’s in gap closing and progress.
