USHS marketing students compete at ONU

ADA — Twenty-five junior and senior Upper Sandusky High School marketing education students recently competed in the DECA District 3 Fall Leadership Conference at Ohio Northern University. Fourteen of them won medals as top five finishers in their respective marketing events.

Mohawk reveals district report card

SYCAMORE — Mohawk Local School Superintendent Ken Ratliff revealed the district report card at Monday evening’s board of education meeting. The district received an A in student growth, a C in K-3 literacy, an A in graduation rate, a C in gap closing, a D in achievement and a C in prepared for success.

Nevada Council to consider clarifying duties of committees

NEVADA — Nevada Council will try to spell out duties for its various committees in the near future. Councilman Greg “Tom” Durham said at Monday night’s council meeting clarity is needed. Councilwoman Diane Morgan suggested each council make a list of what it believes are its responsibilities and they can be discussed further after that.

Students seek affiliation for STEM Club

CAREY — Four high school students presented to the Carey Board of Education during a regular meeting Monday about ways a school-affiliated STEM club could benefit students. Alec Johnson, Gerardo Garcia, Sydnie Arend and Zach Turnbell are part of a group of students who have been meeting to develop and execute projects in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
