All Wyandot County levies approved

Every levy on the Wyandot County ballot passed during Tuesday’s election. While the countywide Angeline School and Industries, Mental Health and Recovery Services Board and Wynford Local Schools levies drew the most attention, citizens across the county voted on a number of other issues.

Kirby tables annexation of property

KIRBY — Kirby Village Council discussed the pursuit of annexation of property from Mifflin Township during Tuesday’s council meeting, but it was tabled until next month due to Tuesday’s election since two Mifflin Township trustee positions were on the ballot.

Holland man charged with drug possession

A Holland man was arrested for possession of cocaine by the Upper Sandusky Police Department following a traffic stop Tuesday night in Upper Sandusky. An officer observed a vehicle driven by Tyler J. Cox, 25, of Holland, had registration covered by a plate bracket and the state of Ohio was covered up on the top of the plate.

Breaking ground

Construction began Monday in front of the Wyandot County Courthouse. “We’ve been wanting to fix the crumbling curbs for a while now,” Wyandot County Commissioner Bill Clinger said. “We decided to get a two for one and replace the sidewalk near the front entrance as well.”

Major theft

Over the weekend, Wagner Ford in Carey fell victim to a breaking and entering with tens of thousands of dollars of equipment stolen, including a large amount of employees’ personally-owned tools. Upper hopes to have new fire truck in time for holiday parade

If all goes well, Upper Sandusky should have the new fire truck in town in time for the Home for the Holidays parade. Upper Sandusky Fire Chief Lynn Yeater reported during Monday’s safety committee meeting that the department had made a $100,000 down payment for the recently purchased 2012 Pierce 100-foot SkyArm Arrow XT ladder truck.
