Justeen Searfoss shops at Practically Perfect in Upper Sandusky before the start of the Ohio State-Michigan game during Small Business Saturday. An annual tradition, Small Business Saturday encourages shoppers to shop locally, which will keep money in the local economy and support local businesses and communities.

Up in the air

All lit up

The finished product for the Wyandot County Courthouse reveals strings of green and white lights around both tall pine trees. Bill Sowers Tree Service & Nursery helped with the right pine and Duane and Brian Frey of CSI Construction helped place the lights on the left tree.

Riverdale board supports bill to deregulate schools

MOUNT BLANCHARD — The Riverdale Local Schools Board of Education expressed its support for Ohio Senate Bill 216, the “deregulation bill,” during Monday night’s board meeting. Riverdale Superintendent Jeff Young informed the board of the bill, known as the Ohio Public School Deregulation Act.

Lighting it up

Wyandot County Commissioners Bill Clinger and Steven Seitz and members of the Upper Sandusky Fantasy of Lights committee including Janice Woods, Irv Woods, Sharon McCarthy, Deb Sturgeon, JoAnn Adams-Moll, Linda Debolt, Larry Ratliff and Pat Althouse met Sunday afternoon at the former EMS building to prepare several strings of green and white lights for the Upper Sandusky Courthouse lawn.

Juveniles lead police on 100 mph car chase

A pair of juveniles led the Upper Sandusky police on a high speed chase in excess of 100 mph early Sunday morning. The police report states an officer observed a vehicle without working tail lights at the intersection of East Wyandot Avenue and North Eighth Street.
