Almost operational

Training was completed on Dec. 16 and 17 for the Upper Sandusky Fire Department’s Pierce 100-foot SkyArm Arrow XT ladder truck. All that remains is for some fittings to arrive, which have already been ordered.

Move-in begins at County Garage

The move-in process has begun at the new Wyandot County Garage, which is located behind the old county garage on North Warpole Street in Upper Sandusky. The new facility, which was built by Clouse Construction, is approximately 30,000 square feet and encompasses the Wyandot County Engineer’s office plus the garage.

Grange CEO makes visit to Reid Insurance Agency

John Ammendola, president and CEO of Grange Insurance, Columbus, recently visited the Reid Insurance Agency of Upper Sandusky. He spoke with Dan Reid, the agency principal of Reid Insurance, and Fred Reid, founder of the agency and former chairman, president and CEO, regarding industry issues, product improvements and agency opportunities.

Crews spend Christmas Day plowing county roads

While most Wyandot County residents were spending the weekend with their families to celebrate Christmas, some were making sacrifices to keep the roads safe. The National Weather Service says over 3 inches of snow fell over the weekend and there were wind gusts of up to 36 mph on Christmas Day, which quickly could have caused drifting on the roads if not for the response of the county and township snowplow crews.
