Wyandot Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Meeting & Breakfast on Wednesday at Trinity Evangelical UMC in Upper Sandusky. Matthew Marvin was the guest speaker. Marvin is president and CEO of MGM Consulting.

BUCYRUS — The Wynford Board of Education approved a pair of resolutions to send a pair of renewal levies to the electorate during Wednesday’s meeting. The first levy is for current operating expenses at a rate not exceeding 6.90 mills and the second provides for the emergency requirements of the school district in the sum of $350,000 for three years.

Fitness Elite is under new ownership. Keith and Lana Montgomery purchased the Upper Sandusky gym from friends in mid-December and celebrated the new business with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday morning at the gym’s location on 505 W. Wyandot Ave.

MARION — Dan Needham and Jeremy Schreck, members of the staff at Peacock Water, have successfully completed the professional service seminar at Kinetico’s Service Academy, the training arm of Kinetico Incorporated, Newbury.

In December, the Upper Sandusky FFA held its Greenhand ceremony, which honors first-year FFA members who have met the requirements to receive their Greenhand degree.

The FSA’s Farm Storage Facility Loan program provides low-interest financing to producers to build or upgrade storage facilities and to purchase portable (new or used) structures, equipment and storage and handling trucks. The low-interest funds may be used to build or upgrade permanent facilities to store commodities.

CAREY — Carey Exempted Village School District Board of Education members on Monday swore in new board member Jason Arend and elected and swore in Greg McCartney as president and Mike Roszman as vice president. Arend is replacing long-tenured school board member Mark Armstrong, who was on the school board for 20 years.

Mayor Scott Washburn recommended naming the new basketball courts at Bicentennial Park after the late Robby Lee at Monday’s Upper Sandusky Park Board meeting.

SYCAMORE — Mohawk Superintendent Kenneth Ratliff and elementary Principal Tamara S. Wallace’s contracts were extended Monday at the Mohawk Board of Education meeting. Ratliff was extended through July 31, 2023, while Wallace was extended through July 31, 2021, with unanimous approval from the board.
