Numerous Upper Sandusky businesses are teaming up with the Star Players and its major sponsor, The First Citizens National Bank, to support the spring production of “The Marvelous Wonderettes,” written by Roger Bean. The lively musical will be staged at 7 p.m. May 10- 12 and 2 p.m. May 13 at the Star Theatre.

Upper Sandusky celebrated all things green Wednesday as it hosted the Northwest Ohio Tree City USA Awards Ceremony at Trinity Evangelical Church. Fifty-five communities in Northwest Ohio have been certified Tree City USA by the Arbor Day Foundation.

After 61 years of business in Marion, Verne Hart Insurance expanded for the first time with its Upper Sandusky location this past month. It celebrated the expansion with a ribbon cutting ceremony and a special open house this past Thursday, offering coffee and pastries in the morning and brisket and pulled pork from The Corner Inn for lunch to anyone that stopped by.

The Upper Sandusky Police Department, the Upper Sandusky Fire Department and Wyandot County EMS responded to a one vehicle crash at the Upper Car Wash and Pet Spa Tuesday afternoon.

The Wyandot County Pheasants Forever conservation organization presented a $500 donation to the Seneca County Opportunity Center (SCOC) Tuesday at the SCOC facility. Terry Reinhart, a prominent member of WCPF, passed away suddenly this past fall and one of his family’s donation requests was to SCOC.

This spring, 32 students from the Upper Sandusky FFA competed in the State Spring Career Development Event Contests (CDEs). Upper Sandusky had seven different contest areas that students participated in: agronomy, equine management, general livestock, nature interpretation, poultry, wildlife management and dairy cattle.

With spring planting quickly approaching, the Wyandot County Farm Service Agency encourages farmers to report failed crop acreage that will not be brought to harvest to their FSA office. Failed acreage must be reported to the FSA before destroying and replanting to allow time for a field check.
