Nevada council approves brush pile maintenance fund

NEVADA — Nevada Council approved a resolution at its meeting Monday night to create a new fund account for maintenance of the village brush pile, voting to set $500 aside this year for the purpose. In the past, the brush pile went long times without being cared for to the point that doing so was an overwhelming expense. Council is trying to stay on top of the need this time.

Carey seeks funds for STEAM Center

CAREY — In an effort to implement science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) through hands-on activities, projects and experiments, Carey Technology Director Nick Rider said in a presentation on Monday that the district will be looking to redesign the high school half of the library into a STEAM center.

Jason M. Phillips, Upper Sandusky, charged by the police with petty theft, amended plea to no contest, found guilty; and open container in public, dismissed. Wayne C. Sharpe Jr., Rutherfordton, North Carolina, charged by the patrol with possession of marijuana, pretrial held, continued to March 11. Max A. Wilcoxon, Columbus, charged by the state with domestic violence, amended plea to no contest, finding deferred pending pre-sentence investigation.
