Safety blotter: March 25, 2019

A caller reported starving horses without shelter on the 900 block of CH 34 the evening of March 13. The responding deputy did not observe the horses to be malnourished. The owner showed the deputy water supply, shelter and food for the animals. 

Cases heard in muni court

Leeann N. Foos, Carey, charged by the Carey police with petty theft, pretrial held, continued to March 25. David O. George, Dayton, charged by the state with assault, pretrial held. Mark Groenhout, Lambertville, Michigan, charged by the ODNR with trespassing at Killdeer Plains, pretrial held, trial set for April 15.
