Rep. McClain joins Ohio Commission on Fatherhood

COLUMBUS — State Representative Riordan McClain (R-Upper Sandusky) was recently appointed to the Ohio Commission on Fatherhood by Speaker Larry Householder (R-Glenford). The Ohio Commission on Fatherhood is a state-wide commission whose mission is to enhance the well-being of Ohio’s children by providing opportunities for fathers to become better parents, partners and providers.

Two injured in cow vs. vehicle accident

WHARTON — Two Wyandot County men were injured when their vehicle struck a cow on TH 79 Tuesday afternoon. The Wyandot County Sheriff’s report states Alex C. Tate, Wharton, was driving northbound on the 6000 block of TH 79 when his 1995 Suburban, owned by Carolyn S. Stewart, struck a 1,000 pound show heifer that had entered the roadway, causing disabling damage.

Todd M. Minnick, Monroeville, Indiana, was arrested for OVI after driving the wrong way on U.S. 30 the morning of March 19. Jacob K. Ross, Galion, turned himself in at the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant on indictment for trespassing in habitation the afternoon of March 19.

Mercer promoted at Wyandot Memorial

Matt Mercer, R.N., of Upper Sandusky, has been promoted to director of emergency department services at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Mercer manages the staff members working in the emergency department and is responsible for the day-to-day operations in collaboration with the department’s medical director, James Cohen, M.D. Mercer has a special interest in process improvement and patient satisfaction.
