McCUTCHENVILLE — Ohio 53 was closed this morning after two separate crashes involving five vehicles, including a school bus from Mohawk Local School District. The bus driver involved said a vehicle stopped behind a Mohawk school bus on Ohio 53 near TH 11 was struck from behind at high speed by a third vehicle traveling southbound at about 7:15 a.m.

BUCYRUS – April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Mike DeWine and the Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are reminding drivers to keep their eyes and their focus on the roadway while driving. Last year, 51 people lost their lives and more than 6,800 were injured in Ohio as a result of distracted driving crashes.

Two Upper Sandusky residents were transported via medical helicopter following a three-vehicle crash on East Wyandot Avenue on Tuesday afternoon. The initial Upper Sandusky Police Report narrative states an officer responded to an accident on East Wyandot Avenue under the U.S. 23/U.S. 30 overpass.

An officer was flagged down by a vehicle on the 11000 block of Reservoir Road the early morning of March 20. The occupants asked about the legality of night fishing at the old reservoir and fishing licenses were presented. Officers performed a funeral escort on the 200 block of East Wyandot Avenue the morning of March 20.

This spring, 34 students from the Upper Sandusky FFA competed in the State Spring Career Development Event Contests. Upper Sandusky had seven different contest areas that students participated in: agronomy, equine management, general livestock, nature interpretation, poultry, wildlife management and dairy cattle.
