The Lions Club of Upper Sandusky volunteered its labor Thursday afternoon to help install a new Formica countertop in the Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center basement. ODOT releases updates for Wyandot projects

WYANDOT COUNTY — The Ohio Department of Transportation recently released highway construction updates for projects in Wyandot County for the week of April 29. Work is dependent upon weather conditions, and unless otherwise noted, will take place during daytime hours.

Safety blotter: April 26, 2019

An Ashland man reported damage to his vehicle on U.S. 30 near CH 98 the afternoon of April 25. Debris flew from a truck and struck the man’s windshield, shattering it. Insurance information was collected. Hugo E. Rosas-Ayala, Upper Sandusky, was arrested on a warrant for no operator’s license (ninth offense) the afternoon of April 25.

Tickets on sale now for Star Players’ ‘9 to 5: The Musical’

The Star Players is presenting its spring show, “9 to 5: The Musical” at 7:30 p.m. May 10, 11, 17 and 18 and 2 p.m. May 12. With music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick, the musical is based on the iconic 1980 hit movie. Set in the late 1970s, this hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous and thought-provoking with a little romance thrown in.

CTC having ‘Damn Yankees’ auditions

BUCYRUS — The Crawford Theatre Company will hold open auditions for their production of “Damn Yankees” from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Bucyrus Public Library, 200 E. Mansfield St. Those auditioning are asked to sing a prepared song of no more than 90 seconds in length, to perform a cold reading from the script and will learn some dance movements. Please dress accordingly.

Luncheon honors professional women

Each year, the Carey Area Chamber of Commerce celebrates women on administrative professionals day with its Professional Women’s Luncheon held Wednesday at the Shrine Cafeteria in Carey. The event is in its 19th year and is a way to bring women in the community together according to Cassie Carlson, executive director of the chamber.

Susie Hawk, with the church, said that the supper, held each spring and summer helps raise money for apportionments that the church pays to the district and conference.
