Upper teams competing in nationals The Upper Sandusky FFA ag and urban soils teams will compete in a national competition in Oklahoma City on Thursday, pitting their soil judging skills against teams from across the United States. Participating teams qualify for the national event by placing among the top five teams at contests held in their home states. The teams match skills in judging the adaptability of land for various purposes including farming, range management and homesite construction. Read More

Fun fair, bike rodeo help families improve safety Area families were given opportunities to improve safety both at home and on the road Saturday during the 2019 Family Fun Fair and the Bike Safety Rodeo, which were held at Upper Sandusky High School. Upper FFA hosts annual Farm Toy Show, chicken barbecue Sunday, collectors, families and active FFA supporters alike gathered at Upper Sandusky High School for the 32nd annual Upper Sandusky FFA Farm Toy Show and Chicken barbecue. FFA adviser Anna Creswell said the event brought in 30 vendors from four different states including Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio, and filled 92 tables. The club sold 700 tickets to its chicken barbecue dinner, one of two held each year, which, she said, directly benefits the FFA and supports scholarships. Read More

Stone works at McDonald’s, Angeline Industries and has been with Art Connections since it was founded.
