County museum open for season

New organ

The Wyandot County Museum officially opens for the 2019 season today. Director and curator of the museum Ronald Marvin Jr. explained that since the museum closed in mid-December, renovations have been underway at the museum, racing against the clock to finish the projects before its opening.

Kimmel Corp. sponsors a free bicycle for an area child as part of the annual Bike Safety Rodeo, which was held April 27 at Upper Sandusky High School. This year’s winner is Diego Gutierrez, a 3-year-old child with autism.

Upper Sandusky High School students will learn about a diverse field of career opportunities for Ohio In-Demand jobs Week this Monday through Friday. In-Demand Jobs Week is a new statewide celebration of in-demand jobs, industries and skills in Ohio. It is a new initiative from Ohio Governor Mike DeWine.

Hospital unveils Wyandot on Wheels at Think Local First Day

Wyandot on Wheels, Wyandot Memorial Hospital’s new mobile care unit, had its debut Thursday during the Wyandot Chamber of Commerce’s Think Local First Day. John Caldwell, WMH’s senior director of administrative services and business development, said that the refurbished and repurposed personal RV turned exam mobile unit, is aimed at removing the obstacles to care for individuals in WMH’s care area.

ODOT releases project updates

The Ohio Department of Transportation recently released its schedule of highway construction within Wyandot County for the week of May 6. U.S. 23 between Ohio 53 and CH 330 east, Upper Sandusky, will be restricted to one lane in each direction through the work zone for guardrail repair.
